What a week in sports

It is not usual that the teams I support win on the same weekend. This weekend was different, and I hope my luck goes into the week to.

On Saturday Besiktas scored an important victory away to Trabzonspor, the so-called 4th Giant of Turkish football. After conceding 2 very stupid goals in 6 minutes, every one was fearing for the worst. However Ziya Dogan, the trainer of Trabzon, made some very important tactical mistakes, and we were able to comeback in 20 minutes. We dictated our game and found the winning goal in 70th minute. Due to a clear error of judgment by the linesman our goal keeper was sent of on 80th minute. As we had used our 3 subs, the goalscorer Bobo had to play as the goalie for the last 10 minutes. After his perfect performance we won the game. It is not the first big game we won without a goalie. We had won in Fenerbahce stadium 4-3 in 2004 without a goalie too.

On Sunday the most unlikely of the outcomes did take place and Kimi Raikkonnen won the 2007 Drivers Championship for Ferrari. This concludes a perfect year for Ferrari who also won the Constructors Championship.



Yesterday Arsenal played a perfect game to beat Slavia Prague 7-0 in Champions League.



I hope some of this football magic will touch Besiktas players today and we will beat Liverpool in the most beautiful stadium in the world....

Failed Training Day or Previously on Battlestar Galactica

Things started out bad right from the start. I missed the bus, which cost me 20 minutes under the rain. Then I went in the gym, only to notice that I've forgotten my sport socks at home. I had to go back to the locker room three times because I forgot my magazine, towel and water bottle respectively. It was clear I had no concentration or motivation whatsoever. I stepped on the bike and could only manage 10 minutes. I tried my luck at the weight room, did some abs but I was just not in the mood. So I gave up, went back home and watched two episodes of Battlestar Galactica. I can't get enough of the series, I need a game to go with it. Here is the opening scene which excites me every time: I'll go today instead. I am pretty motivated. Besides, it's a great way to spend the Valantine's Day.
