People are bown twins

Image
Those who know me, are aware of my affection for everything French, my favorite being the French language. Those who have seen me during the cold 2010 Berlin days will have no problem with this photo proving that I have a lost French twin. Now I know why I love everything French. Engin saw this French guy in the photo in an U-Bahn station in Berlin last week: My friend Seckin had a similar experience yesterday. He found out that his lost twin is the newly signed Galatasaray forward Dos Santos: And for those who haven't had the pleasure of meeting Seckin, or the pain of meeting me, here is a picture of us, doing the Mc Hammer dance:

How to dance (and lipsync) like a pro

My sister made an entry about one of the tragicomic Turkish movies of the late 90s called "The Forbidden Streets" on her blog . A child music star, Emrah was unfortunate to play -on more than one occasion- a boy whose mother has to consult prostitution to survive, and is therefore subject of many not so nice jokes in Turkish pop culture. In this low budget direct-to-TV movie he plays a poor guy falling in love with a rich girl whose brother is a gang member a.k.a West Side Story. This movie reminded me of another Turkish version of an international blockbuster Cocktail. Thanks to Seckin, I came up with the name of this "great" Turkish movie called "Never Without You." I found two great clips from the movie which thought me a lot how (not) to dance. PS: Ilk video'da Yasak Sokaklardan Amerikan Ceketli Tayfun diye hatirladigimiz, Seckin'in ise kimligini Nartallo olarak desifre ettigi dansci bir cok Turk filminde dansci roluyle karsimiza cikan biyik...

My Humps

Alanis Morissette parodied Black Eyed Peas' My Humps. In this hillarious clipo I found on Mauro's Facebook , she makes a good laugh about the original song, the ice culture, and also herself as the broken hearted screaming American female vocal who can sing crying just about anything!

A Day At The Awards

I was lucky last year. I had no online tickets, I did not reserved or anything. But I found 2 tickets for " Leonard Cohen I'm Your Man "'s European premiere (and watched it with Blixa Bargeld and Wim Wenders, yes I am trying to show off) during Berlinale. I thought my luck would be with me again, and we would find 4 tickets for the last screening of 300 . Unfortunately, the cinema we went to was also the venue for the Honorary Awards, and the screening was sold out. I am not disappointed, its coming to cinemas in April. We waited outside the cinema, with the hope that we would catch some celebrities. But the only people who came out of the cinema were a bunch of old people who were actually carrying some awards, and no screaming and crying fans or anything of that sort. There was actually one artist-wannabe guy, who was wore an all white suit complete with white leather shoes and a white fur jacket. He unfortunately did not get any contacts with the film industry, but...

You Be My Wife

I stumbled upon this live performance by Borat. Lyrics are very touching, and the electro-organ solos are master grade. The lyrics go: You have a pretty face, and hair that is gold Your body is nice, like a seven year old I wanting a world that you'll be my wife But if you cheat on me, you pay with your life You be my wife i treat you nice, We will make love, whenever i like I give you two shoes A dress that is red They belong us to you Since my old wife now dead
