... who replied my prayers yesterday... If you watch this without a tear in your eyes, you gotta reconsider your love for football...

Bob Dylan has this great radio show called Theme Time Radio Hour. Every week he chooses a theme, such as Coffee, Devil, Trains, and plays a wide collection of songs about the theme. Interested can download almost all the episodes from the following website ( link to the website ). I was listening to the Weather episode the other day. He played De Niro's famous "Someday a real rain will come and wash away this scum" sample from Taxi Driver. Apparently Dylan likes this movie. So I googled De Niro and Dylan, and here is what I found: Brad Elderman ( link to his website ) took this photo in 1976 in a New York City backstage, where Dylan called the young and new actor to meet him in person. Apparently he tried a lot to get it back. I am happy he didn't get his way. Then I came across a similar picture in the Galatasaray blog I follow Kalendar Libero( link to the blog ): When Queen met the God. This picture of Maradona with Queen is from Queen's epic 81 South Am...

Life is a lottery...

God is Argentinan, and you? I know I was for the last month. Unfortunately, sometimes even the God himself has to make mistakes and suffer... Thanks for everything Diego. To dream you and Messi lifting the World Cup was almost as good as the real thing. Life is a lottery, Night and day, Life is a lottery, Just walk and walk... If I were Maradona, I'd live like him, Not a single mistake in front of the goal, But mistakes everywhere else...

When the God himself apperead...

... among us...

But not in football...

You may well be good without God, but not when it comes to football. That's why I shall be praying to the Football God tonite, before tomorrow's game.

How does a God warm up?

D10S Existe!

D10S Existe!

The greatest football player of all time Maradona was honored by the Serbian director Emir Kusturica's Cannes 2008 movie. The news conference after the movie showed once more why Diego is still not only the greatest player of all time, but also the coolest player of all time in football. Here is a summary of what he said: About Julia Roberts: "Julia Roberts. I would do anything to see her come along the Croisette. I would cut off my hand for that – even the hand with which I scored against England." About Pele: "I promised my daughters that I wouldn't talk about Pele, but well, I can't prevent myself — I regret it for him," Maradona said. "If I hadn't done all the bad things that I've done in my life, Pele would never have been able to come along as No. 2 behind me, because he used to go to bed at 10 o'clock at night, whereas I was still out on the tiles until 5 o'clock in the morning. That's the big difference between us."...

D10S EXISTE - God Exists!

Image
Much effort, and sometimes blood, has gone into efforts of proving the existence of God, without much success. But when it comes to God of Football, there is no doubt, who he is. This picture from 86 World Cup game against Belgium is one of many such proof of existence: This week I gave this picture to my sister to make a poster out of it for my living room, she came up with this great work: Then this morning OnurKa broke me the sad news that D10S was hospitalized after over-indulgence, which is merely an euphonism for eating a lot... I hope D10s recovers soon, or a new wave of atheism is to take a hold of the world...

Touch of God

It is a fixed question that every football fan has came across at least once in his lifetime. Pele or Maradona. Unfortunately, some people - fueled by the money hungry Fifa-Nike money making machine - have even suggested Ronaldinho should be added to this question. For me there is NO question. Diego is the god of football, Pele and Ronaldinho can only be prophets maybe, that is only if Maradona sent them. And if he ever did send a prophet, I guess it would have been George Best... The picture above should not be taken as a "proof of god", rather a touch of god. Cause he does not need a proof. The picture is from Mexico 86' and the desperate team who had to send 6 players to stop Maradona is Belgium.
