From Queen to Japan

This one goes out to all the Japanese people who've lost loved ones to the black daemon of the ocean, who are now shivering in the cold under radioactive clouds. And those around us who will take some lessons.. "Shizukana yo ini, Hikario tomoshi, Itoshiki oshieo idaki... In the quiet of the night Let our candles always burn, Let us never lose the lessons we have learned."

3 Anthropology Facts that I love telling in a conversation

In Western Cultures future is associated with the forward direction. Past is associated with bacward direction. We leave the past "behind" and look "forward" for a better future. In some Andean cultures this is reversed. Future is unclear, we don't know it, we cannot see it. Just like our backs. Past on the other hand, is all known to us, we can analyze it, look it at every direction. Just like the wide view in front of us. A certain tribe in the Ocenia lives in a perpetual Wednesday. An entry in my sisters blog reminded me of an urban legend about the Japanese language. I've hear in many places that the Japanese language does not have any swear words in it. It's a total lie, and is a result of Western ignorance, which tend to mock everything that it does not understand. As a follower of Myth Busters, I feel it's my duty to fight against this myth. There are two reasons behind this myth. First of all, there are complex levels of respect that is built in the Japanese language. Almost every word has versions of varying respect levels. Take the pronoun "you" for example, "Anata" is a very respectful way of saying "you", where as "Teme" is a form of "you", so rude, that is almost equivalent to saying fuck you every time you address a particular person [1] .
