Two New Albums

Image
The disappointment I had after listening to my old favorites Massive Attack's new album Heligoland is beyond description. Take some oriental beats from Mezzanine, add a little bit industrial sounds from 100th Window, add a lot of popish tunes and you get this album. The only thing interesting about the album is the island that gives the name of the album. Check out the Wiki page . My other old-time, and as a matter of fact still one of my all-time, favorites Autechre are also back with a new album. Haven't yet listened to it. The sad thing is that they will have a concert in Berghain on the first day of my military service in Turkey...

if you just want to dissapear...

... like i do on some nights, close your eyes, put on this Autechre tune, and imagine you are Dave Bowman , re-born as a Star Child, gazing on to the Blue Planet in the cold stillness of the deep space.

Autechre's New Album and World Tour

Autechre's brand new album Quaristice marks a back to the roots move for them. After experimenting with complex a-rhythmical beat patterns in their last 2 albums, it seems like the IDM gurus from Rochdale, Manchester have spent their time with synthesizing -again- very complex sounds. The resulting sounds are used in rhythmical structures that are similar and yet calmer and simpler than the structures in their previous 2 albums. The sounds themselves reminded me of Matmos. They will be on a world tour starting on Febuary 29, whose dates can be found here: http://warprecords.com/news/?offset=0&ti_id=1369 My favorite for now is dark and echoe-full rale

My Alltime Music Video Top Three

This 1995 music video by Radiohead is the best music video I've watched. Until a few days ago, the memories of this great video were lingering in my mind, but I was not able to recall the name of the song. Thanks to Wikipedia I have prevailed over visual "Ohrwurm". Here it is, Just by Radiohead. My other all-time favorite is the Alexander Rutterford , video of my favorite IDM band Autechre's Gantz Graf: Lastly I couldn't have possibly left the famous Chris Cunningham video to Aphex Twin's great song Come to Daddy:
