a helmet is not enough

A red helmet is not enough Michael. You also need a red car for a win .

F1 Pre-Apocalypse

Isn't this ironic? Renault cars gracefully crashing. I loved the commercial. Now it looks like Renault had too much confidence on their crash-safety of their cars, and deliberately crashed one of their F1 cars last year in Singapore, so that Fernando Alonso could win by pit stop strategy. The news is allover. I find it a pity, but I don't think F1 has a bright future in the changing times, unless it re-invents itself. This abhorring display of lack of sportsmanship should shake Renault and the sport deeply.

Lewis Hamilton, the arrogant self worshipper, has spoken again...

Now he thinks he is the "leader of the team." Great way to go Lewis, I am sure you have all the experience needed to lead a top Formula 1 team after your maiden year in F1, which ended disastrously when you accidentally put your car on third gear, sitting a superior car, built on stolen Ferrari information. http://www.planetf1.com/story/0,18954,3213_3005402,00.html

What a week in sports

It is not usual that the teams I support win on the same weekend. This weekend was different, and I hope my luck goes into the week to. On Saturday Besiktas scored an important victory away to Trabzonspor, the so-called 4th Giant of Turkish football. After conceding 2 very stupid goals in 6 minutes, every one was fearing for the worst. However Ziya Dogan, the trainer of Trabzon, made some very important tactical mistakes, and we were able to comeback in 20 minutes. We dictated our game and found the winning goal in 70th minute. Due to a clear error of judgment by the linesman our goal keeper was sent of on 80th minute. As we had used our 3 subs, the goalscorer Bobo had to play as the goalie for the last 10 minutes. After his perfect performance we won the game. It is not the first big game we won without a goalie. We had won in Fenerbahce stadium 4-3 in 2004 without a goalie too. On Sunday the most unlikely of the outcomes did take place and Kimi Raikkonnen won the 2007 Drivers Cha...

Moment of truth closing in Stepneygate (UPDATED) ...

In what will surely be remembered as the most controversial decision ever given by FIA, the governing body of F-1 , will decide today on the future of McLaren Mercedes Team, who were found guilty earlier of industrial spying but not punished due to lack of evidence. In recently obtained e-mail exchanges between Fernando Alonso and the test driver Pedro de la Rosa, there are hard-to-deny evidence that McLaren Mercedes Team had access to secret Ferrari information and were testing them on their cars. McLaren Mercedes will again try to defend (!!!) itself on the lines that there is no evidence that these information were used in races, which I find totally unacceptable. The case involves a close cooperation between the head designer of McLaren Mercedes, Mike Coughlan, and Ferrari's now sacked head of development Nigel Stepney, and it is utterly stupid to think that these information were not used for increasing McLaren's competitive advantage. I am eager to see if principles wi...

About Battlestar Galactica, Shakespeare and Besiktas and Owning a House

Image
I am not an avid house-furnisher. As a matter of fact I bought the furnitures for my apartment with my dad, and organized them with my mom. Various ornaments in the apartment are either presents or stuff that my mum brought with her when she came to visit. Everything was fine until I came back from Turkey after the New Years break. I had not noticed how empty my walls were until I was back home in Turkey. It took another 3 months for me to take action, but I am proud of the result. What I did was to download the poster from Battlestar Galactica Website, get a print out on a A1 Paper and buy a passing frame from Ikea. Here is the result: Last weekend was a great sporting weekend for me. I haven't compiled a statistics, but the number of weekends, on which Ferrari won a GP and Besiktas won, is not very large. This weekend was in this sense a nice exception. Kimi Raikkonen drove a commanding race leading from start to finish. It was obvious that Ferrari was a a good .5 seconds fast...
