Hamster Hammond Seriously Injured

Top Gear is my all-time favorite TV Show. Even thought it meant Jeremy Clarkson to me for along time, it did not take long before Richard Hammond and James May became integral parts of this hilarious show. Unfortunately Richard Hammond had a crash last week with a jet-powered drag machine, when he was attempting to break the British Land Speed Record. He was in serious but stable condition, and there seems to be hope as his condition is changed to stable. James May and Jeremy Clarkson have had conversations with Hammond... I hope that he gets well really soon. The Fight Club generation need him on TV again, a regular amiable bloke, testing cars that few of us can get a hold of.

Atlas Gloves

I bet you watched the movie Minority Report . Remember those cool gloves which let the guys easily access the images and all the computer menus? They were cool weren't they? And you guys thought we had to wait tens of years before we get something like those for reasonable amount of money, think again! A pair of bright brains ( Dan Phiffer and Mushon Zer-Aviv ), open source software, Google Maps API and two ping-pong balls with key chain LED lights drilled inside them adds a complete new dimension to user computer interaction! The tool is called Atlas Gloves ... By the way, did you also noticed that Google Maps is slowly becoming de facto tool for geographical imaging on big EV networks like CNN? PS: Here is a video of the tool

To Lie, Not To Lie, To Lie, Not To Lie...

Hungarian Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsany has admitted last night on a private conversation or a speech to his Socialist Party Members that all that the politicians did the last 6 years was "to f*cking lie". Pretty open statement that did not shocked me. I mean the content of course, the fact that a politician is so brave to give out the politicians trade secrets is of course quite shocking. There are two sides of this confession that catches my attention. First, let us see what did this guy get by lying? He became the first Hungarian PM to be re-elected. and by telling the truth? Civil unrest , 150 people injured, and the threat of loosing his seat. Of course, he should not have lied in the first place, but still there seems to be no incentive for a politician to tell the truth in the first place. Then the only way the believe in a politician is to trust his good will an sincerity, and those characteristics my friends, are hard to find in politicians. Weaponed with cla...

If can't YouTube'em, Join'em!

A real good buddy of mine, who is incidentaly in cinema business, was very excited when he told me that he had a very very cool internet adress to give . Well, I'll have to admit that the excitement got a hold of me too. The address lived up to its expectation, it is the YouTube profile page of a guy (or a robot) named DrNo25 who somehow gotten a hold of two short films by my favorite director Martin Scorsese from his time as a young bright film student at New York University. Back in the days, me and my buddy found ourselves privileged when we gotten a hold of Martin Scorsese's early films like Mean Streets , and finding one of his short films would seem like a dream. Thanks to YouTube and the sites like it (by the way, I only know of Google Video , I'd appreciate if anyone who knows a better site mails it to me or add to the comments), the problem (and the whole sluggish industry) of traditional content distribution is bypassed, and I do get WHAT I want to see ex...

Rest in Peace Crocodile Hunter ( Crocs Rule! )

Steve Irwin , better known as the Crocodile Hunter, lost his life doing the job he loved. He was filming in the Great Barrier Reef, when a stingray stung him. Stingrays are not known to be hostile, but somehow it felt itself threatened by the filming crew. I have always admired his enthusiasm and enormous bravery, which peaked in my opinion when he crawled into a cave full of 5 of six huge crocodiles. He did not know what was in there until he saw 10 pairs of shiny crocodile eyes, in return he screamed in amazement, not fear and left the cave only to come back lated with more equipment. I believe he played an important role in the change of attitude of humankind towards the wildlife, whose territories are being INVADED by humans. I was able to see through his TV shows, that the real victims are the wild animals, who are being forced to leave their lands just because the mankind cannot be satisfied with what he has got... Passages out of Gray...

It's a miserable morning here in Berlin. I can see an ugly office building and small piece of sky from my office, and this little piece is gray. This gray is not normal, it is more like metal-gray rather than cloud-gray. In order to keep my spirits up, I've been listening to the album Passages , which is a 1990 collaboration between the great sitar maestro Ravi Shankar , father of Norah Jones for you pop freaks, and Philip Glass , one of my favorite modern composers. And it really helps! I recommend it to all poor souls who are stuck in their offices, under a gray sky...
