Steve Irwin, better known as the Crocodile Hunter, lost his life doing the job he loved. He was filming in the Great Barrier Reef, when a stingray stung him. Stingrays are not known to be hostile, but somehow it felt itself threatened by the filming crew.
I have always admired his enthusiasm and enormous bravery, which peaked in my opinion when he crawled into a cave full of 5 of six huge crocodiles. He did not know what was in there until he saw 10 pairs of shiny crocodile eyes, in return he screamed in amazement, not fear and left the cave only to come back lated with more equipment.
I believe he played an important role in the change of attitude of humankind towards the wildlife, whose territories are being INVADED by humans. I was able to see through his TV shows, that the real victims are the wild animals, who are being forced to leave their lands just because the mankind cannot be satisfied with what he has got...
